Minnesota Snowmobile and Cross Country Ski Trail reports for Becker County
Welcome to the Winter Wonderland Snowmobile Trails in Becker County of Minnesota! The snowmobile trails are open December 1-March 31, depending on snow conditions. Ride 250 miles of trails through prairie and secluded snow-laden forests where wildlife may be seen. Free trail maps may be picked up at destinations along the trail as well as the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce office at 700 Summit Avenue. Or, download city and county trail maps. ULTRA GROOMING REPORT- Feb 21st
Most of the trails are in good shape.. We have been out this week working the trails and it is looking like a great weekend coming up.. The forecast with the warmer temps and the chances of rain showers Monday is looking like this could put a halt to our grooming. Still be careful riding in open area’s, we still need more snow for better cover in some open spots and fields.. So get out and ride!! Remember be careful on the trails, stay to the right, ride sober, use caution and cross lakes at your own risk, respect landowners, stay on trail, do not trespass, and don’t litter!

North Woods Trail Riders Snowmobile Club Trail Report– Feb 21st
With the extreme cold this week, our trail system didn’t lose any snow. We did get out stwith the groomer and repaired the trails to the west & north, as these had enough snow to pull in and keep the drag full of snow. We hope old man winter shows up before the upcoming warm temperatures destroy the base. Get out and ride this weekend, the days are numbered if we don’t get more snow. Please slow down on the corners, you may not see the oncoming traffic!
400 – North groomed 2/19 to Little Bemidji, Pike Lake and East Elbow Lake. This section is in very nice shape, it took a few extra passes to fix the Little Bemidji run from Many Point.
200 – Was groomed 2/20 to N. Sugarbush Rd., White Earth Lake & Strawberry Lake. This section was in tough shape, but we packed it and filled in the holes. This section is much improved.
300 – Was groomed 2/20 all of Big Rat & little Rat Lake trail. This section is really good, we have plenty of snow on the sides to repair the trail.
Remember…Trail safety is everyone’s responsibility. If you see hazards on the trail, please take the time to move them or report them to the club. Please use caution crossing the lakes, beware of ice roads and fish houses.

Midnite Riders Report – Feb 9th
For the first time this season, we had both groomers out making the trails smooth and ready for riders!
Wayne and Bill tackled the North side (
red breadcrumb trail), while Tom worked the South side (
orange breadcrumb trail).
Co Rd #1 (#1) heading south to J&K Marine
Eastward to Roadhouse (#2) and Erickson Loop (#2, #3, #4)
Cormorant Village (#6) and along Co Rd 11 & 138 (#7)
North to TJ’s (#9) along Paral Lake Rd (#10)
Doubled back South to Co Rd 20 & 68 (#8)
Total Groomed: 45 miles (Tom: 27 miles)

CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAILS: The Detroit Lakes Nordic Ski Club grooms trails during the winter season at Mountain View Rec Area, East Frazee, Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, Pine Lake, Pickerel Lake and Detroit Mountain Rec Area. See their website for maps and grooming updates.
MAPLELAG RESORT: Ski nearly 70 km of maintained trails, with most groomed double wide classical (traditional) style. Ski 13 km of skating trails on Skaters Waltz, Skaters Extension and North Loup.
