Antique and Classic Boat Show

Speed – lots of it! The Quake the Lake Powerboat Races were held on Little Detroit Lake on Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30, 2019.

Twin City Powerboat Association brought the event to lakes country for the 13th year in 2019. Hot laps began at noon, with racing at 1:00 pm. For the best viewing, bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit by the mile-long city beach to catch the action. The family will enjoy seeing the boats and visit with drivers Saturday morning and evening. Free admission.

The fifth annual Detroit Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show was held 10 am-3 pm Saturday, June 29  by the mile-long city beach. A good variety of boat styles were on display on land and water by the city beach. There were a total of 23 antique and classic boats from 1994 or before parked for the public to admire.
Skipper’s Choice award went to Tom and Loree Yeager for their 1948 Chris Craft Runabout  Twyster. People’s Choice awards were given to Jeff Roberts in the Wood category with his 1950 Chris Craft Racing Runabout Jacqueline Rose and to Dennis and Sue Daly in the Non-Wood category for their 1952 Aroliner Cabinaire.
