Through the Chamber, the people of the Detroit Lakes Region have made it the leading trade center of Becker County and improved the quality of life for all residents.
We are committed to our members, business development, community development, tourism development, and our region’s quality of life.
Committees
Participation is key to the Chamber’s — and Detroit Lakes’ — success. It takes hundreds of volunteers working on many different boards, committees, and task forces to complete the events, programs and ambitious business plan of your Chamber. Be a part of the action and get involved today!

Get updates on your Chamber, what is new in the community and how we can all work together to improve business here at the Lakes. 2nd Wednesday of each month, 8:15-9:00am.
Ambassadors
The Chamber Ambassadors extend a welcoming hand recognizing new businesses, expansions, new locations and new ownership. They make business visits on the 1st Wednesday of each month that are featured in the Chamber newsletter. They also help with ribbon cuttings and ground breakings.
Art in the Park
This task force plans and coordinates this annual event held in the DL City Park each July. Meets as needed.
Board of Directors
The governing board of the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce. If you are interested in serving please contact the Chamber office.
Festival of Birds
This committee plans, coordinates and oversees this event which brings birders from all across the United States to experience our unique birding corridor. Meets as needed.
4th of July Fireworks
This task force plans, raises funds for, and produces the annual 4th of July Fireworks display held annually on Detroit Lake. Chairs – Mark Fritz & Mike Hutchinson, Lakeshirts.
Promotions & Events
This committee develops and coordinates community retail promotions and events that enhance and create an awareness of the Detroit Lakes area as the region’s shopping hub for goods and services.
Tourism
The Tourism Committee develops and actively promotes the Detroit Lakes Region as a year-round tourism destination. Meets 1st Wednesday, 8:15 a.m. (no summer meetings)
Task Forces
Economic Development Summit, Tour of Manufacturing, Health Career Fest, Workforce Initiative and more are Chamber events run by task forces.
LEADERship Program
LEADERship Detroit Lakes is designed to provide participants with an educational opportunity to learn about the Detroit Lakes area resources, values, strengths and opportunities.
The LEADERship program offers monthly sessions led by professionals, trainers and educators to provide a wide range of leadership styles and allow you to grasp new skills you will be able to use in the workplace. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with a local business mentor to help you during and after the program.
