Art Leap – Sept 26 & 27

It’s time for the 20th annual Art Leap, a free, self-guided fall driving tour of artists’ studios throughout the Lake Country Scenic Byway!

From 10 am to 5 pm Saturday, September 26, and 11 am to 4 pm Sunday, September 27, 2026, explore 35 artists’ studios featuring the work of more than 150 artists. Rain or shine, Art Leap invites you to hit the road, meet artists, discover one-of-a-kind work and enjoy the beauty of the changing season along the way.

NEW THIS YEAR: Make a stop in Detroit Lakes at Art Project 605 to see the work of artist Ellen Moses. Ellen is pictured with Wandering Bear, her impressive 850-pound bronze sculpture at Ortenstone Gardens, 1646 Randolph Road in Detroit Lakes. During Art Leap, you can visit her studio and see a smaller replica of Wandering Bear up close.

And don’t forget to look around as you travel! The route winds through the beautiful fall landscape, offering plenty of opportunities to take in the season’s changing foliage colors as you hop from studio to studio. Bring a friend, make a day of it and experience the creativity of the Lake Country region.
