Participation is the Key to Chamber Success
You are invited to be a part of the ACTION by getting involved in your Chamber of Commerce.
It takes hundreds of volunteers working on many different boards, committees, and task forces to complete the ambitious business plan of your Chamber. Members who are involved make great connections too.
:45 Fill-up: The monthly membership meeting for the DL Chamber. All members and their employees are encouraged to attend this meeting to get updates on your Chamber, what is new in the community and how we can all work together to improve business here at the Lakes. 2nd Wednesday of each month 8:15-9:00am.
Agri-Business: The Agri-Business Committee maintains a liaison with agri-business organizations, lends support in developing programs that assist the growth of the agri-business industry in our area. Meets as needed, 1st Tuesday, 8:00 am. Chair –
Arts & Crafts in the Park: This task force plans and coordinates this annual event held in the DL City Park each July. Meets as needed.
Festival of Birds: This committee plans, coordinates and oversees this event which brings birders from all across the
4th of July Fireworks: This task force plans, raises funds for, and produces the annual 4th of July Fireworks display held annually on Detroit Lake. Chairs - Mark Fritz & Mike Hutchinson, Lakeshirts,
Leadership Detroit Lakes: A Community Leadership program designed to further develop effective leadership skills for workplaces in the Detroit Lakes Area. This 8 month learning opportunity for upcoming leaders is a great way to gain skills. Participants, mentors, sponsors and committee members needed.
Promotions & Events: This committee develops and coordinates community retail promotions and events that enhance and create an awareness of the Detroit Lakes area as the region’s shopping hub for goods and services. Crazy Daze, Welcome Back Teachers, Light up the Lakes and Button Days are just of few of their local promotions. Meets 2nd Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m.
Tourism: The Tourism Committee develops and actively promotes the Detroit Lakes Region as a year-round tourism destination. Activities include, Resort Cracker Barrel and a Landowner Appreciation Dinner. Meets 1st Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. (no summer meetings) Chair – Gary “Seal” Thompson, Tri-state Diving
