RAINING OUTSIDE?

Whatever the weather, the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center offers recreational activities daily. Day passes are available to enjoy the indoor pool with waterslide, or work out at the fitness center, track and racquetball courts.

GO SUNNY HUNTING

See how many of the decorated four-foot sunfish you can find. When fall arrives, the sunnies migrate indoors. Pick up a map at the Chamber showing the Sunny in DL locations for summer and for winter.

AMUSE THE KIDS

In the summer, the kids will enjoy an action-packed day of go-carts, bumper boats, batting cages and mini-golf at the the amusement park on Highway 59 South. Race model cars around the track at the Washington Square Mall. If you'd rather watch the action, visit the Becker County Fairgrounds on Tuesday evenings in the summer to see BMX bikers circling the track. On the north side of town, catch the action of youth during summer soccer competition. The City Park at the beach has playground equipment for youth and disc golf. Along the city beach and at Dunton Locks County Park, fishing piers make it easy to cast a line and try to catch pan fish, walleye or northern. For a round of family fun, check out the mini golf courses.
